FOUR TYPES OF COSMETIC INJECTABLES
Oasis Dermatology offers four types of FDA-approved cosmetic injectables. During your consultation, our skincare experts will discuss your needs and help you decide which cosmetic injectable suits you best. Each cosmetic injection uses the same effective ingredient but has different formulations to match your skin’s health condition.

BOTOX
Botox was the first cosmetic injectable out on the market and the most recognized therapy that improves the appearance of dynamic wrinkles such as the worry lines, crow’s feet, laugh lines, bunny lines, and more.

DYSPORT
This cosmetic injection uses small molecular size which quickly spreads throughout the muscle area which makes it ideal for getting rid of forehead lines and crow’s feet. Dysport also provides more natural-looking results.

RADIESSE
Restore your youthful appearance and fill laugh lines with Radiesse injectables. They help stimulate natural collagen in your body which fills in wrinkles and folds around your nose, mouth, and other areas of fat loss in the face.

KYBELLA
Kybella uses a detergent called deoxycholic acid which is naturally found in your body. This injectable reduces the appearance of “double chin” or submental fullness. Once injected, the acid breaks down the unwanted fat cells giving you a more defined look.

How It Works
COSMETIC INJECTABLES
Cosmetic injectables work by injecting low doses of neuromodulators into stubborn muscles. It blocks the transmission of nerve impulses to the muscles injected to stop those lines from forming.
When the muscles start to weaken, the wrinkles will soften and disappear in time. It also leaves your skin looking smoother and younger. The effect of cosmetic injections lasts for at least three to six months.

Assessment
The first step in your neuromodulator therapy is a pre-treatment assessment. This involves taking photos of the areas to be treated so you can discuss specific goals with our board-certified dermatologist.

Our skin specialist will provide a custom facial anatomy that marks the exact injection points with a white makeup pencil. You will be asked to raise your eyebrows, smile wildly, and frown to identify facial muscles to target.

What’s the difference between botox and fillers?
Most people get confused between two types of injectables: botox and fillers. It’s important to distinguish their differences so you can make the best choice for your skin. Botox is an injectable for limiting muscle movements while fillers are used to build skin volume.
Botox helps reduce muscle activity that causes wrinkles. Facial fillers, on the other hand, lift the skin by filling the areas with gel like substances that restore volume, smother lines and make the skin appear hydrated.
