Multipurpose Solution

MICRONEEDLING TREATMENT

Microneedling treatment provides an effective solution to many of the most common skin problems. Whether you want to treat fine lines and wrinkles, reduce scars, or boost hair growth, this skin care technique is a standard treatment done by our licensed medical aesthetician, Jasmine Cepero.

By inserting a fine-needle roller or pen device, we create tiny holes in the top layer of your skin and then we apply a serum and induce collagen production. The procedure can be used all over the body – from scalp to ankles. The most requested microneedling treatments are the following:

Microneedling on Face to treat scars, wrinkles, and large pores.
Microneedling for pigmentation
Microneedling for sunspots

4 TYPES OF MICRONEEDLING

Scars caused by acne come in two forms: either as an indentation on the skin’s surface or from a raised, often red bump, on the skin’s surface. Raised scars signify that your skin is healing itself well, but too much collagen may be present and can cause excess collagen to build up and harden the scars on the skin.

Skin Pen Microneedling | Oasis Dermatology
Skin pen microneedling

This mechanical microneedling utilizes a motorized pen with super thin needles that creates thousands of channels, up to 2.5 millimeters deep. Skin pen microneedling is the most popular type of microneedling as it is very economical and effective in delaying the aging process. It’s best for people who want to smoothen their forehead lines, lip lines, acne scars, and body scars.

RF Microneedling

Radiofrequency or RF microneedling uses thicker needles to pass on heat deep into the skin. RF microneedling generates less microchannels than skin pen microneedling. This is a popular choice for those who want no bleeding and no downtime after the therapy. The main goal is to tighten, lift, or contour the skin as well as reducing acne and minimizing oil-producing pores.

Mesotherapy | Oasis Dermatology
Mesotherapy (Microneedling Facial)

Mesotherapy is the least invasive of all the microneedling options. It only goes up to 600 micrometers deep, affecting only the topmost layer of skin. Mesotherapy allows the skin to absorb skincare ingredients like Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, or Botox. This is a great option for those who are generally happy with their skin but looking

PRP With Microneedling

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) with microneedling is a popular procedure as it preserves and protects the skin from sun damage, wrinkles, and fine lines. To make sure your skin is rejuvenated, microneedling is done to trigger the natural production of collagen. Platelet-rich plasma injections are included in this procedure to help achieve optimal results in a shorter period of time.

MICRONEEDLING FAQS

What is the procedure involved in microneedling?

Microneedling basically takes advantage of the skin’s natural ability to heal itself. It involves safely creating “micro-injuries” using tiny sterile needles. This triggers new collagen production. Topical facial products will also be infused to achieve best results.

Is there downtime on microneedling treatments?

You may notice mild redness, bruising, and swelling after the treatment. These effects will usually resolve within 24-48 hours.

How do I know if I’m a candidate for microneedling?

Whatever your skin type, you can be a good candidate for microneedling as long as you don’t have any active lesions or infections. However, we do not recommend undergoing microneedling procedure if you’re pregnant or actively using acne medications. Keloid formers will not be good candidates as well.

For a more accurate recommendation, book a consultation today.

Is microneedling facial painful?

You may feel some mild discomfort during the procedure but it’s not painful. You may also request for a numbing cream before the session if you feel nervous about it.

What are the dos and don'ts after microneedling?

To get the best possible results and ensure proper healing, we encourage patients to do the following aftercare instructions for at least 24 hours after treatment:

  • Avoid direct sunlight and exposure to UV rays.
  • Don’t go swimming or immersing your face in water.
  • Avoid strenuous exercises that cause sweating.
  • Avoid facial topicals, treatments, lotions for 2-3 days.
  • You may use ice packs or cold compress to soothe your skin.
